After a month of travel through Eastern Europe our African exploits being on the 20th of March 2010 as we arrive in Agadir, Morocco.
From there we’ll hit the road using various modes of transport – bush taxi, bus, hitchiking in VW Beetles, vans or trucks, stowing in train carriages, riding camels and even piggy back if need be through loads of countries many people haven’t even heard of – Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Mali, Burkino Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon and Gabon.
Hopefully, eventually making it from the scene of the 2006 World Cup Final in Berlin to Johannesburg, South Africa for the 2010 World Cup on the 9th of June. Then it will be 2 weeks experiencing as much of South Africa as possible, meeting up with mates, soaking up a hot shower, plenty of nightlife and of course watching some World Cup Football action.
The home stretch of the trip kicks off in Swaziland on to Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and the beaches of Kenya before finishing our four and a half months in Africa – flying out of Dar Es Saleem, Tanzania. If we make it and have a cent left, we’ll try to tee up some sort of celebration in Europe on our return, the 28th of July which of course you’re all welcome to join.
